Today, The Republic of Dog announces that Sisko Troy
Bonnelly is retiring from his duties as Assistant Dog Trainer. The news comes as quite a surprise due to the
result of health issues facing Sisko.
Blood tests revealed early stages of renal disease a few months
ago. Today an x-ray revealed a mass in
his abdomen. Another set of kidney
analyses have been submitted along with a blood test. After the results are in a needle biopsy will
be performed on the unknown mass. We
will post updates to Facebook (Jean-Paul Bonnelly) as we learn more.
During his career, Sisko helped train countless numbers of
dogs with The Republic of Dog. He also
helped dogs with aggression or anxiety by assisting in the behavior
modification process. His laid back
demeanor and trust in JP allowed him to help even dogs with those types of
behaviors. Please know that Sisko was
never put in harm’s way, ever.
Sisko will remain on board with The Republic of Dog as the
public relations liaison and as a consultant.
He is resting comfortably and we anticipate that he will have a long and
happy retirement by JP’s side.
Thank you,
The Republic of Dog
---------------------
He is simply one of the greatest dogs that have ever lived. Sisko has been my best friend for the last 9
years after I adopted him from Operation Kindness when he was 8 weeks old. I knew he was special from the first
day. We are going to fight hard to make
sure he stays healthy! We have been
through many good times and many hard times together. I could never have asked for a better dog
than my boy Sisko and I will do whatever it takes to get him better as long as he is happy! We are both stubborn, fighters and we do not give up easily!
